Klingberg Family Centers is pleased to have received a grant from the Connecticut Mentoring Fund (administered by the Governor’s Prevention Partnership). The funds received will allow Rebekah Behan and another Klingberg trainer to provide the Risking Connection: Creating A Healing Home training to parents/caregivers of the youth who receive mentoring services with us. The curriculum was originally developed for use with foster families but is being adjusted to better suit biological parents/caregivers. The training will help families to better understand trauma, connection, and relationships.

Klingberg has two volunteer mentoring programs that are intended to provide adolescents with a positive adult role model and guide. Our One-on-One Mentoring Program serves youth ages 14 – 21 years old who have been referred by the Department of Children and Families, while our Juvenile Mentoring Program serves youth ages 10 – 17 years who have been referred by Court Support Services Division staff members.
