24th Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Festival

photo for PRKlingberg Family Centers will host the 24th annual Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Festival on Saturday, June 18. The event is held on the agency’s 40-acre hilltop campus in New Britain to raise support for their programs serving children and families across Connecticut. Wayne Carini of Velocity’s “Chasing Classic Cars” and his daughter Lindsay serve as Grand Marshals of the festivities.

The event features three unique components: a traditional antique car show (1972 and older); a specially chosen  display of automobiles in a pre-war (before 1940) Concours d’Elegance, including those from the Brass Era (1800’s – 1914) and classics from the 1920’s and 1930’s; and a Concorso display of exotics and supercars of past and present, including Corvettes, Ferraris, and Maseratis. This year’s show will feature vintage racing cars, including the famous 1909 Alco known as the Black Beast.

In addition to the amazing assortment of automobiles, the focus on family fun makes this a wonderful way to celebrate Father’s Day weekend. The Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Festival is a great event for the city of New Britain, drawing visitors from throughout New England, New York, New Jersey, and beyond. Last year over 4,500 people attended the Festival.

Professional DJ and announcer Dave Salonia provides a fabulous selection of vintage music and oldies favorites for the crowds to enjoy all day long. Dancers will light up the dance floor with ballroom and vintage dances throughout the show. An expanded children’s activity area including a LEGO tent and Imagination Playground building blocks and new food options add to the excitement this year to make it a fun-filled day.

Platinum sponsors of the event include: DATTCO, Eastern States Exposition (The Big E), Farmington Bank, Food Bag, Hartford Business Journal, Hartford Courant Media Group, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, New Britain Herald, Northern Lights Communications, Sign Pro, SpaceFitters, Stanley Black & Decker, TD Bank, and Tilcon Connecticut.

Spectator admission $15.00; Seniors 65 and over $10.00; Children 12 and under are free. ALL spectator parking is free at The New Britain Stadium at Willow Brook Park. Prompt, efficient, free shuttle service provided by DATTCO. No dogs or alcohol allowed. Proceeds benefit Klingberg Family Centers’ programs serving children and families across Connecticut.
