If you’ve entered Klingberg’s Main Building during the lunch hour this summer, you may have had the privilege of meeting Ricky, who has been covering lunch for our receptionist. Ricky, who will be 19 this fall, has lived at the Webster House group home for the past year. She is making such great progress on her clinical goals that when the opportunity arose for some part-time work, her clinicians knew she would be an excellent fit for the job.
Ricky has thoroughly enjoyed working at the front desk this summer. When asked her favorite part, she talked about greeting people, helping them find where they want to go, answering the phone, accepting package deliveries, and generally being helpful. Ricky’s lunchtime coverage will be missed when she returns to school this week, but she will remain on the per-diem list for after-school work.
In her free time, Ricky loves to dance, color, take walks, and write. She graduates high school next spring and is looking forward to college, where she hopes to study medicine and become a pediatrician. With the enthusiasm and work ethic she has shown this summer, we have no doubt that she can reach her goals!
