Cultural Competence Committee Holds Art Contest

Klingberg’s Cultural Competence Committee has been working to both improve and celebrate staff and client/student diversity. The Committee hosted a Diversity Art Contest and created diversity banners to display throughout the agency as a reminder of our commitment to diversity.

Elementary and middle school students at the Raymond Hill School (RHS) submitted their ideas on diversity through art they created with art teacher Brandon Zanauskas. The artwork was displayed in the RHS hallway and winners were announced at the elementary school awards ceremony. The winners received printed and framed copies of their art and gift card prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention. The kids were excited and proud of their accomplishments, and the winners’ art pieces were incorporated into a diversity banner that we can all be proud of.

Thank you to our committee members for taking on this project, and a special thanks to Ed Tuttle at eklektos for the art design of the banner and to Image Ink for the printing.
