We are delighted to announce that Jimmy Greene’s album Beautiful Life has been nominated for two Grammy Awards: one for Best Jazz Instrumental Album and one for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for the song “When I Come Home.” The album was inspired by Jimmy’s daughter, Ana Marquez-Greene, who was one of the children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012, and a recording of her voice is featured on the first track. Jimmy wrote in a Facebook post announcing the nominations, “Although I wish this album never had to be made, I am thankful that many more will hopefully hear her voice, a voice that our God would not allow to be silenced.” We wholeheartedly agree.
Partial proceeds from the sale of Beautiful Life go to benefit The Ana Grace Project of Klingberg Family Centers, which strives to promote love, community, and connection to prevent violence and encourage healing.
